The format of this knockout cup is a follow on competition. All pins must be knocked down before the 9 are put up again. If the first player scores 7 and leaves 2 pins, the following player has to take those pins left out before the 9 are put up again. The lead off player changes each leg so to give most a chance at aimimg at a full set initially. The Mavericks with players away due to half term, had to call up Rex for his first and only game of the season. We started poorly and after 2 legs we were 23 pins adrift of the Supercide. Then we fought back in the 3rd and 4th legs, so that we were only 2 down pins. However the fifth leg left us behind overall by 9.A final florish by Mike W when he had 2 single pins to pick up, which he did and then scoring 8 with all pins to aim at, left us on 44 with the Supercide requiring 36 to win. It took them to the final ball of the last man to get this so we lost by 1. Couldn't have been closer. Better luck next season we hope.
